About the role

FuseIT connects people to people, building global communities.  We imagine a world in which people are made to feel increasingly connected and supported through technological innovations.  We achieve this by building enterprise software products and delivering professional services across the world. Bringing systems together is in our DNA, fusing technologies to create huge business productivity gains.

As an Intermediate Software Engineer at FuseIT your mission is to contribute to the success of our software products and delivery to our customers.  You will be working to deliver business outcomes by connecting a range of applications including industry-leading CRMs like Salesforce, website applications and experience platforms, and document and record management systems.  We build natively on these platforms to deliver great customer experiences.

This role suits someone who treats a backlog as a starting point, not a ceiling. Someone who identifies problems, proposes solutions, and sees them delivered.

This is an intermediate level role. You'll own significant pieces of work independently, with senior support available when you need it.

A typical day might include

  • Writing a JavaScript library that will be deployed to websites around the world
  • Creating a .NET application to provide a high-volume interface between systems
  • Writing managed packages to extend Salesforce capabilities and integrations
  • Improving our documentation and training guides to help ourselves and our customers
  • Researching and building prototypes for new approaches or new technologies
  • Working as part of a team to groom user stories and ensure work items are well defined
  • Using AI tooling to move quickly, and carefully judging what it produces

Learning Salesforce

Salesforce is central to what we build, so you'll be expected to learn Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Flow. We'll support you through Salesforce developer certification as part of your learning pathway. You don't need Salesforce experience to apply, but you do need to be willing to learn it.

Team dynamics

Our development team is geographically spread across New Zealand, with both remote and hybrid workers.  Although we aren’t together in the same office each day, we do have in-person catchups to bring people together throughout the year to form connections.

As a small team, your ideas on technology and product get heard, and there's a clear path toward technical leadership as you grow.

We use Confluence to share knowledge, Zendesk to triage support requests, Jira to manage our software development, Bitbucket for source code development and continuous integration, and Claude Code.

A great match would have

  • Typically 3-6 years of professional experience
  • Strong ability to develop, test, and deploy software written in C#, .NET, and JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Experience connecting software systems together using APIs, web services, or middlewares
  • Ability to design and implement data models and queries in relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL
  • A track record of owning work end-to-end. Not just completing tasks, but identifying and solving the right problems
  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A strong instinct for engineering best practices, continuous integration, automation, and software security

And as a bonus, any of the following:

  • Existing Salesforce development experience or certification
  • Website development using a content management system or digital experience platform
  • Microsoft developer certifications or equivalent

  • Fully paid medical insurance

How do I apply?

If this sounds like you! Click apply now and email your CV and a cover letter. We’d like to see your personality and judgement shine through in your cover letter. Why not tell us about a past technical decision you'd make differently now, and why. Or, tell us about a time you pushed back on a proposed solution from a colleague, a customer, or a tool.
