The S4S connector integrates Sitecore with Salesforce allowing the seamless exchange of information. With real-time bi-directional communication, almost any object in either system can be made visible to the other. For example, website login credentials can be stored and controlled in Salesforce contact records, or Sitecore web forms can push form data, along with Sitecore Experience Analytics, to Salesforce allowing fast and easy qualification.

S4S supports pushing the field data in Sitecore web and custom web forms to Salesforce. After creating the form in Sitecore, the S4S Mapping Wizard can be used to map the form to any Salesforce object. When a visitor completes a web form the field data is pushed to the mapped Salesforce object. This is typically a lead or a contact.
If the mapped object is a Salesforce lead or contact, the Sitecore personalization data (analytics) can also be pushed to Salesforce so a complete picture of visitor behavior is visible in Salesforce (see the following section). This greatly helps preparation and increases sales confidence when making the introductory call. Even better, sales operators can edit the data in Salesforce, and push this to Sitecore, so the returning visitor will be given the required unique experience when they next visit the website.
The S4S Mapping Wizard also has an option to automatically add new leads and contacts to an existing Salesforce campaign. This makes it very easy to create targeted marketing lists if your site has multiple capture forms.
You can also use the S4S mapping wizard to create web forms that request a username and password from the visitor. The credentials are saved to Salesforce and can, using the S4S Security Connector, enable the visitor to log into the website using the username and password. Sitecore takes personalized browsing or "experience" to new levels by capturing the browsing data in its xDB database then profiling the information to determine the likely characteristics of each visitor. The web content is then automatically adjusted to match the evolving profile.
S4S makes this wealth of stored information available in Salesforce lead and contact records. Armed with this data the sales team get a greater understanding of each visitor from their website behavior. They can then approach and interact with visitors and customers with far more knowledge than has been possible to date. Because key data is persisted in Salesforce it is easy to identify hot prospects with high levels of engagement.
Further, if a Salesforce operator learns new information about a lead, S4S lets the operator change the experience of the individual as they browse the website.
