The latest version of S4S adds a much more sophistciated Salesforce SOQL Parser. The parser ensures that any custom SOQL queries you generate in .NET are valid and will be passed to Salesforce without issue. Also added in this version is the ability to run APEX web services using the connector via the GetApexService() method.

One fix, with thanks to Jens Mikkelsen from Inmento Solutions in Denmark, addresses an issue where a Sitecore version number containing a non alphanumeric character would create a configuration error. The full list of additions and fixes can be found here.

APEX Web Services and Test Methods

If your APEX test methods require you to call out to an external web service, be warned this is not permitted. Further, there is no obvious message or declaration that the test method has failed, it is simply skipped making it difficult to undertand why your code coverage is failing to improve.

Sitecore Shared Source Modules

We obviously enjoy Sitecore development too much. We often rush off and build our own modules "at the drop of a hat" then widely proclaim our genius to all within earshot.

Here is a another thought. What if someone equally (or more) intelligent has already built a module that is free to use!

The list of Shared Source Sitecore modules is growing and well worth a look. These modules are for both web and admin functionality.

Moving the growing suite of Sitecore databases from DEV to TEST to PRE-PROD is big business. So is comparing the Sitecore databases after the enivitable undocumented changes made in one environment are not reflected back down the chain.

Salesforce Force.com Quick Access Menu

Just came across the new "Force.com Quick Access Menu" that appears collapsed on the top right of the screen. It's coming in the Winter '12 Force.com Platform Release. You could also check out the Online Help.
